Case Study - Crest Nicholson, Kings Norton Phases 1 & 2

  • Housing

These projects are valued at £560,000 and are located on Redditch Road, Kings Norton and built by our partner, Crest Nicholson. They consisted of constructing 24 plots up to DPC, involving site clearance, access roads, section 50 outfall drainage, storm attenuation systems and all external finishing works.

Due to the site space restrictions, our focus of attention was the completion of the ground works, within an accelerated programme, to provide clear access on all plots for superstructure works.  Indeed, Crest was able to construct their show homes efficiently, aiding sales.

This was achieved by working more in conjunction with agencies such as Severn Trent, to redesign the drainage outfalls to the required 104 / 106 agreements and reduce the build programme, alongside a busy main road.  McDermotts mindset was to ensure the main Redditch road remained open whilst works were in progress to  minimise disruption to traffic flows and residents living in the surrounding area.

The projects have proved successful and a reflection of working closely with our customer.

Added Value to the Client:

  • Advancement and early completion of the programme allowing earlier house sales.
  • Flexibility to work in a manner that did not disturb traffic flow on busy main public highway.
