McDermotts Interior Solutions division were employed as the principle contractor at St Ambrose Barlow Catholic Primary School in Birmingham to complete a major refurbishment to the girls & boys toilets.

This 4-week project began at the end of July and was completed on time. McDermotts were tasked with stripping out the old sanitary units, all pipework and old urinals. We manufactured and installed bespoke IPS (Panelling to toilet, urinals & vanity units), installed new vanity units and mirrors and painted the entrance doors and external ceiling.

As part of our commitment to sustainability and the avoidance of unnecessary wastage, we removed and modified all toilet cubicles which were then reinstalled in order to keep costs and environmental impact low, with no compromise on quality. All fittings were made to measure by McDermotts’ in-house specialists.

Head Teacher Maria Winters said, “We are delighted with the finished result of the refurbishment and the highly professional way McDermotts handled the project from initial discussion and quotation to completion. It was of great use to the school to re-use the existing materials on site especially as we are all meant to be contributing to a greener, more sustainable planet. The work was completed to high standards and the disruption to us was kept to a minimum.”
