Summary of Works: Demolition of existing multi-storey car park and replacement with new Tesco Store

As part of the complete redevelopment of the Crown Square area of Stourbridge Town Centre, McDermotts supported Bowmer and Kirkland with the groundworks package on the site of a new Tescos store.

The location of the site meant that extra logistical planning was required to ensure that all deliveries were well timed and projects were completed within strict timescales to allow other contractors access.

McDermotts were pleased to be able to complete the project on time to allow for the smooth opening of the new store. Work carried out within the groundworks package:

  • Formation of Piling Mat
  • Bulk excavation
  • Storm and Foul drainage including attenuation tanks and petrol interceptors
  • 278 works to approach roads, inc new traffic signals.
  • Intricate traffic management systems during construction
  • Foundations including Reinforced Concrete pile caps and beams.
  • BWIC services.
  • Travelator/Lift Pits
  • Gabion/RIC Retaining Walls
