  • The use of major materials is monitored to identify sources (mandatory for timber/timber products, ready mixed concrete, pre-cast concrete, steel and aggregates).
  • A purchasing strategy that balances cost down with targets for the use of recognised responsible sourcing schemes (e.g.  100% of timber/timber products - including paper and card)

Aspirational Goal for 2020
  • Set targets for procurement by value of major materials from recognised responsible sourcing (chain of custody) schemes.
  • Procure all major materials from recognised responsible sourcing (chain of custody) schemes.
  • Adopt recognised accreditation schemes for sustainable procurement.
  • Procure all other materials and components from responsible sources.

Raw Material Consumption

Scope: taking a holistic view of raw material consumption throughout the project life cycle.

  • Raw material usage data will be gathered across the business (and all projects under our control).
  • Opportunities to reduce consumption will be continually reviewed.

Aspirational Goal for 2020

  • Measure and report on year-on-year performance improvement trends.
  • Reduction targets are supported by supply chain collaboration, recycled materials, and planning across the project life cycle.
